Sod Westminster, we'll be alright!

A very curious, almost separatist(!) thing indeed for Rhodri Morgan to say:
CONSERVATIVE election win in Westminster could revive Welsh Labour and hand the party sole power in the Assembly, First Minister Rhodri Morgan said last night.

In a major speech to mark the 10th anniversary of the first sitting of the Assembly, Mr Morgan admitted he had been wrong to predict before the 1999 elections that Labour would have a working majority “three times out of four”.

But he said the return to Labour-only administration in Wales could come if the Conservatives take Downing Street.

Should this happen, he said, “the pendulum would be very likely to swing back Labour’s way in Assembly elections again”.

Almost as if he's willing the Conservatives to win at a nationwide level for the sake of Welsh Labour's own parochial interests.
