DAVID CAMERON last night challenged Alex Salmond to agree to an annual grilling by MPs under a Conservative government. The First Minister would be asked to appear at least once a year before a cross-party Westminster committee to discuss policy and spending decisions affecting Scotland.
If it is, then Cameron's also offering himself up for one:
In addressing his Scottish conference in Perth on Friday, Cameron went further: "If the Scottish Parliament so wishes, I will come to Holyrood once a year and answer questions from MSPs on any subject, from Scotland to the wider world.
And in a sentence designed to send a shiver down the SNP's spine:
"I mean it when I say I want the UK Government and the Scottish Government, Westminster and Holyrood, to work together."

Complete insane suggestion if you aare interested in the Union unless there is ahidden catch since he has put Salmond and the Scottish Government on the same level of prestige as Westminster.
Salmond should bite his hand off.

What a strange auld slant you have ma man.
Say Salmond fronted Westminster during the reign of the present regime. I'm sure the grilling would not be concerned with the good of Scotland. That as always with the Unionist parties is not a priority. Honest what a pointless juvenile palava it would turn into. Actually when I think about it the first minister of Scotland should not need to answer to another place for his governership. The people of Scotland should have that right at the ballot box. It should be a fundamental principle.
