Spanish Flag Must be Flown in Spain....

A SNP MSP, Christine Grahame, has called for the British army to be kicked out unless the Queen is prepared to fly the Saltire in a higher position to the Union flag from the historic ramparts of Edinburgh and Stirling Castles.

Lessons for us British to learn herefrom our European friends?

But yesterday Spaniards of all stripes were angrily debating a Supreme Court ruling that the Spanish flag must fly outside all public buildings — even in independent-minded regions

In contrast to the shambolic mess with our "independently minded regions" in the United Kingdom, no messing about in Spain; Mr Brown, please take note.

An interesting story in the Independent the other night illustrative of separtists petty minded obsession with symbols of the "colonising" power. Catalan nationalists have been spending their time cutting down Osbourne sherry's distinctive black bull adverts because they're a symbol of Spanishness.
