Rumblings of discontent amongst the Welsh separatists:
Mr Wigley said, “The One Wales document that sets out the terms of the coalition agreement contains over 100 new spending commitments. I want to make it absolutely clear that I make no criticism of the Assembly Government, but the agreement was for understandable reasons made in haste, and I have seen no detailed costings.
“It seems clear to me that if the new commitments are to be delivered, there are only two possibilities. Either more resources are made available by the Treasury, or existing commitments made by the previous Labour administration will have to be cut.”
Or alternatively, how about forgetting about this:
1. We will expand the funding and support for Welsh-medium magazines and newspapers, including the establishment of a Welsh-language daily newspaper
(If enough people want to read them, then they wouldn’t need support)
or these:
2. National Gallery for Wales
(Yes, very nice for "prestige on the world stage" and all that, but when cash is tight, is it really that essential?
3.We will establish a new National Youth Service Fund
Er cool.....what exactly would that that do?
4.We will establish a Climate Change Commission for Wales. which will be chaired by the Minister for Sustainability and Rural Development
Useless Quango Alert.
Dafydd Wigley, like Alex Salmond, is playing a very clever game.
Quite soon (probably) Plaid Cymru will be taking on its new *partner* Labour at the ballot box.
Plaid Cymru has set up a whole bunch of worthy, yet completely impractical and extortionately expensive policies.
Nasty Mr Brown says no more money, the Labour regime in London are the bad guys, bingo, Plaid Cymru triumph at the ballot box.
And Welsh Labour's response?
Missing the bigger picture.
