Today's random statistic....

...Conservative candidates standing in Northern Irish constituencies polled a grand total of 2,718 votes (0.4% of the total votes cast) in the 2005 Westminster election.

Conservative candidates standing in Northern Irish constituencies polled a total of 11451 votes (1.7%) in the 2010 Westminster Election, a 400+% increase on 5 years previously.

OK, obviously there were also one or two extenuating circumstances, but still...some food for thought there surely for those in the Northern Irish Conservatives who are serious about making a real difference to the political landscape here?

Update
