NIHRC Watch

News from the NIHRC:
Lady Daphne Trimble has resigned from the Commission to concentrate on her candidature in the forthcoming Parliamentary election for Lagan Valley. We wish her well in her political career
Following Jonathan Bell’s resignation to take up his MLA position, presumably two posts are now available on the NIHRC. It’ll be interesting to see who replaces them; Bell and Lady Trimble were, of course, the only two members of the Commission to disagree with the mess of a proposed Bill of Rights and ironically were then denied the right by the imperial Professor McWilliams of producing a minority report to that effect.

Other NIHRC news, during this extended consultation period for the Bill of Rights, is that a related set of parliamentary questions were asked by Nigel Dodds in the period 5th-12th January this year – the accounts for the period 2000-2008, in particular, are worth casting a glance at.

I have some other interesting information, gleaned mainly from FOI requests, which I am presently holding fire on until I can cross the 'T's and dot the 'I's but I’d very much appreciate any other NIHRC stuff people would like to share either by email or via the comments zone.

Christy Walsh has compiled a collection of letters, emails, Data Protection requests and an FoI request which gave the most comprehensive and damning account of the NIHRC, see; http://www.christywalsh.com/html/nihrc_fraud.html
