Welsh Conservatives showing the way.

The Conservatives in Wales look to be heading for a very good election...:
Following the trends seen at the 2007 Assembly election and, even more pronounced at the European Election, Labour in Wales is under serious threat.

Recent polls in Wales have shown a 3% advantage to Labour over the Conservatives. Such a narrow margin has not been seen in living memory.

Even in the best year for the Tories – the 1983 Thatcher post-Falklands landslide, where the Conservatives captured 14 Parliamentary seats in Wales – Labour’s lead in the popular vote remained substantial. Labour soon re-asserted itself and three elections later in 1997, the Tories failed to get any Welsh MPs at all.
...making it all the more important that their colleagues in N.Ireland and Scotland perform as credibly- bit of work still to do in that regard perhaps.
