Hold the door Jeeves, Lady Sylvia is just on her way out...

The darling of the Cultra Champagne Socialists is not to be disclipined.

I have a feeling Eric Pickles and Co wouldn't have been so lenient, but if she's not prepared to stand at the next election under the Conservatives and Unionists banner, then what exactly is she doing still hanging around, 24 hours after dropping her former colleagues in it?

I'm in great favour of politicians following their conscience, but they then should be prepared to follow through the full logic of that step.

Whatever, Reg and Dave did promise us "change" and that's what the electorate of North Down are going to get within 12 months...

(If this is true, then all I can say is good riddance, being an Irish Unionist was good enough for Edward Carson)

The great Edward,Lord Carson. I'm reading a book presently called "The Londonderrys, A Family Portrait".
Edward Carson was a pal of the 6th Marquess of Londonderry and he stayed quite often at Mount Stewart.
When the 6th Marquess died on 8th February, 1915 at Wynyard, Carson, who attended the funeral, subsequently described him as "a great leader, a great and devoted public servant, a great patriot, a great gentleman, and above all the greatest of great friends".
A fine eulogy indeed.
