A fool and "his" money are soon parted....

Another reason why Peter Weir needs to be very careful at the moment with the public grandstanding (see link in this morning's post):
Westminster's new inquiry into the Barnett Formula gets under way tomorrow with the first meeting of the Lords committee on the subject.

The meeting will be in private and is expected to discuss the general remit of the peers' inquiry. The formula, which determines the level of additional public expenditure in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, has over the years become a major bone of contention, fuelling claims that England subsidises the rest of the UK.

There are 12 members of this committee...

2 have credentials to represent Welsh interests;
3 have credentials to represent Northern Irish interests
4 have credentials to represent Scottish interests;
1 is a former British Civil servant.

So that leaves...
2 Peers, who are former British MPs for English constituencies, so they MIGHT represent England's interests.

Forgive me if I don't hold my breath waiting for these turkeys to vote for Christmas, eh?

Sad, nobody representing British interests.

Though if we banished "interests" .... "fairness" might germinate.

I'm not holding my breath either!

Ditto on your comment .....
