Coatbridge Table Wine off the menu?

The Nats' latest target:
FIRST they forced Cathy Jamieson to stick a cork in it, and now the monks of Buckfast Abbey have demanded a vow of silence from her successor.

The distributors of the tonic wine have expressed their anger after Kenny MacAskill referred to 'Buckie' in a parliamentary debate aimed at curbing irresponsible drinking and anti-social behaviour.

The distributors of Buckfast, which is particularly popular with youths in west central Scotland, have accused the Justice Minister of demonising their product and have demanded a face-to-face meeting with MacAskill.

The Buckfast Loyal are being mobilised as we speak, although a few bottles in the post to the right VIPs may also smooth over any temporary misunderstandings ...

The Buckie is repulsive at first but dangerously drinkable once you get used to the stuff. Which is why I don't go near it. Bottoms up!

It does a very good job of keeping its repulsiveness, it's just that once you start drinking it, your brain gets steadily deadened to how repulsive it actually is...still, each to their own and it's not the job of any politician to tell us which alcohol we are permitted to kill off our brain cells with!

Amen to that.
