Another World Champion!

I’ll admit to not being much of a Grand Prix fan, but even so, it was very exciting and great to see Lewis Hamilton delivering two fingers to the Catalunyan (amongst others) racists and capturing this year’s Formula One Title at the weekend.

Any reason you saw fit to call them "Catalan (amongs others)"?

Google news has 724 stories about "hamilton spanish racism" and 1 about "hamilton catalan racism" (and that one has nothing to do with the Hamilton sottry, it's about Eto'o being racially abused by non-Catalan fans)

While there may well have been Catalans amongst the racists in the Spanish grand Prix at Barcelona and those who posted all those messages, there is no indication whatsoever that a large number, let alone the majority, of them were Catalan instead of Spanish.

Trying some cheap political point there O'Neill?

For once, no.

So why "Catalunyan (amongst others)"?

Barcelona is capital of Catalunya; if Barcelona plays at the Nou Camp how are the majority of their supporters described?

You're looking for something that's not there, if I'm going to make a point it'll be a lot more obvious and blatant than any you've perceived here.

Got to admit there's a bit of difference between the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona and Barcelona playing at the Camp Nou.

The former has people from all over the country (and the world) watching teams and racers from all over the world - the second has Barcelona fans going to watch the Barcelona team. I'd put good money on the % of Grand Prix Fans being Catalan being very very very much smaler than at the Camp Nou!

I'll take your word for it that you're not making any point - but the word did jump out of me, especially when every single news source about the story used the word "Spanish".

Thank you.

And because of all that, you intimidated me out of the post I was wanting to do yesterday;)
