More Questions on the Referendum ?

"A NATIONALIST minister last night raised the prospect of a four-question referendum on constitutional change, revealing that the SNP had "absolutely no fear" of asking Scots whether Holyrood should be abolished."

A very courageous stance by Jim Mather......not totally on line with his leader’s earlier statement on the matter.

Anyway, yes, let’s have that referendum asap, with the following options up for grabs:

1. Independence
2. Giving the Scottish parliament more powers
3. Retaining the parliament with current level of authority
4. Bulldozing the Scottish parliament and the whole “devolution” project into oblivion.

Ok, you may have to fine-tune the language on Point 4 somewhat, but at least the electorate would be given a full range of choices. It would also pull the alleged "unionist" parties into the open and get them to declare, once and for all, where they want to see Scotland moving constitutionally. If they were truly Unionist, then for once they’d be forced to make a positive argument for the Union, instead of the defensive, backfoot, posturing they’re mucking about with at the minute.
