England & The Union

Is the continuance of the United Kingdom in the long term interest of the English?

Yes, because the break up of the Union:

1. Would result in a loss of influence (eg negotiating and voting rights at the EU and UN) on the world stage.
2. Would result in many talented N.Irish, Scottish and Welsh white collar workers leaving England to service the new bureaucracies and quangos set up in their own countries.
3. Would alter the political map. The Conservative Party would become the natural party of government without there being the necessary democratic check of a strong socialist opposition in Scotland and Wales.
4. Would result in English companies facing much stronger competition for international investment- lower average wages ion N.Ireland, Scotland and Wales coupled with a complete autonomy to set taxes etc.
5. Would cause adminstrative, bureaucratic and financial chaos.
6. May accentuate the rise of a negative, self-defeating and racist Little Englander mentality.
7. Would cause a loss of diversity
