Pity it took threats of taking them to court for for racial discrimination, but at least now the Labour Party has agreed to the formation of a Northern Ireland Labour forum. It will be able to send delegates and submit motions to party conferences and will have a guaranteed seat on Labour’s national policy forum. It will also be able to put forward candidates for election to the national executive committee.
And hopefully, in time, the Mother Party will gracefully permit Labour Party members to fight elections in the Northern Ireland.Labour is a British party and it would appear now (although for purely selfish reasons) also a Unionist one. It should exist in all parts of the Union, people in Northern Ireland shouldn’t be discriminated against, they should be allowed to join and vote for the party .
