Be afraid. Be very afraid.

As the Eurocrats seem now to be almost begging the Republic's government to let them bail the country's economy out, it's perhaps an appropriate time to repeat already last week's quote from the EU President, Herman van Rompuy:
We have together to fight the danger of a new Euro-scepticism.
This is no longer the monopoly of a few countries.
In every Member State, there are people who believe their country can survive alone in the globalised world.
It is more than an illusion: it is a lie!
The time of the homogeneous nation-state is over.
A tad presumptious I thought at the time but less than a week later I bet Herman is rubbing his hands at the news from Dublin.
