Saltire to fly highest at Holyrood?
Because that will make it more important that the Union flag.
England doesn't need an English manager...
...only a good one.
I'm sorry to disagree, but wouldn't the importance of a flag and what level it flies at be a completely subjective opinion? It would probably suit your tastes to fly the Union Flag higher. Or it may not. However, it may better suit someone else to have another flag fly at a higher level. How could one even evaluate something such as that to be good or bad. Are defenders of the Union strong enough to stomach the Union flag flying underneath another? If not, I shudder to think what would happen if a break-up were to ever actually occur. Just my two cents. Now I'll go and make it a farce with my next paragraph. Should the Union flag be dropped off at the dry cleaners more often as well? Perhaps a higher thread count is in order?
"I'm sorry to disagree, but wouldn't the importance of a flag and what level it flies at be a completely subjective opinion?"The flying of flags in the UK is determined by law, so that doesn't make it subjective.
I was simply reffering to a individual's feeling on the matter. Simply put, one may prefer to see a different flag fly above another. That's all.I suppose it is in the Union's best interest however to keep the boot on the neck of anyone who may push anything resembling nationalism. Still, the law is on your side in the matter. You clearly have the moral highground.
"I suppose it is in the Union's best interest however to keep the boot on the neck of anyone who may push anything resembling nationalism."Well, it looks to be a pretty soft sole on that boot if we are even debating the matter! Whether we have morality or the law on our side, Unionists, should be (still) allowed to at least raise the matter, don't you think?
No. I really don't. You have defeated them, Scots, in almost every way possible. When does it end? What is the end result of Unionism? Shall a nation (Scotland) completley lose it's soul to satify your end? So no, the hell with the right to raise the matter. Nationalists have nothing else, let them at least fly a flag a few inches higher so that maybe whatever dignity stilly exists in their souls, can still dream of of world where their ancestors did not have a bad day, and lose some God-damned battle. That's all life is I suppose. One group feeling bad about, and one group feeling great about some event that should no longer matter. How else could one describe life in "Great" Britain.
