The Cybernator Part 2- Judgement Day looms?

Amazing that this (first 10 minutes or so) is still rumbling on:

The reason it is rumbling on being that McLachlan is refusing to walk quietly and if I were in his position, to be honest, I’d too would be doing exactly the same thing.

The longer term damage to the SNP however may be the end of the blind, unthinking, unquestioning loyalty that the vast majority of cybernatdom had for the party- the supposed esprit de corps has been built up on the premise of a "wee Us" (incorporating El Tartanissimo himself right down to the lowliest night-owl in The Scotsman comments zone) versus the "mighty Unionist Them"; the SNP’s ruthless ditching of McLachlan has proven that premise to be very much a one-way street.

Update

It's getting even worse... for the SNP:
ATTEMPTS by SNP members to distance themselves from the cybernat blogging controversy were dealt a severe blow yesterday when the party was forced to investigate the behaviour of a senior politician.

Rob Davidson, the SNP group leader on Dumfries and Galloway Council, faces disciplinary action after he admitted lying when he said he was not involved with a pro-independence blog that smeared political rivals.

Mr Davidson is a parliamentary aide to SNP MSP Alasdair Morgan, one of Holyrood's deputy presiding officers

A few Unionists need to grow up. A scandal erupting over a few sweary words and silly stories, jeezo........! The leader of the opposition using all his questions to the first minister over petty allegations, and people still vote for these clowns. I hope you have this story labelled under petty.

The media seem to be enjoying this as they don't have to make up as much themselves, yet marqueegate and the whiff of corruption get's the basics. Oh wait it is the BBBBBBritish media's Scottish Kapo's at work yet again.

That was the original scandal (although some of the stories are not that silly if taken to court), the implication made by MacLachlan that Russell has been lying over what he knew is the important point now. The Dumfries councillor hasn't helped the situation at all either.

Does it matter? Only if you're extremely naive and believe that polticians as a breed are inherently trustworthy. Does the general public care? No. Will it affect the SNP's vote next year? no.

Apparently there will be a statement from MacLachlan's laywers in tomorrows' papers and an update on his blog in the morning...hmmm

Yep Russell is now the story. And it does beg the question, why does the media care so so much about this?

We are badly missing an independent media.

>>Apparently there will be a statement from MacLachlan's laywers in tomorrows' papers<<

Russell should just have brushed it off, instead we may have a media circus as this guy is sued. Unless he has incriminating corresspondance or corroboration he cannot possibly prove Russell knew about the blog's contents'
