SNP foreign offensive reaps dividends

I don’t know about increasing Scotland’s "global influence", MacAskill and the SNP certainly seem to have succeeded in making a few new friends* abroad:
Megrahi, who has terminal cancer, boarded a plane at Glasgow airport yesterday after being released from HMP Greenock.

Mr MacAskill said he made the decision because medical experts suggested Megrahi, 57, had less than three months to live.

When his plane touched down at a military airport in the Libyan capital Tripoli, there was a festive atmosphere.

The crowd waiting to greet him waved both Libyan and Scottish flags, some were wearing t-shirts bearing his picture and Libyan songs blared.
That’s nice, maybe Alex should consider opening up his next "embassy" in Tripoli.

*..and apparently enemies.
