Folk music isn't just for the Volk....

From Joan Crump, Folk Against Fascism:
"If you love English folk music it belongs to you. You don’t have to be born in England"
Which is good to hear; those readers which who have endured this blog from its inception will have heard several tunes which can be classified as "English folk", whether it be from the *classic* (Traffic playing "John Barleycorn") or the contemporary (my old mate Billy Bragg and "Hard Times of Old England") side of the genre. Folk music, of whatever variety, does need firm roots to be truly meaningful but those roots don't need to be yours in order for you to enjoy or even perform it.
