Those who know their history will be aware that the architects of the Northern Ireland state – Carson and Craigavon placed such importance on the issues of policing and justice that they fought long and hard to see these powers devolved to the fledgling Northern Ireland Parliament.
That's the same Carson who said:
“I appeal to the [British] Government to keep Ulster in their united Parliament. I cannot understand why we should ask them to take a Parliament which they have never demanded, and which they do not want.”?
Did Carson then really fight "long and hard" to have "policing and justice" transferred to that same parliament?
