Save the Great British Pub!

It looks like Northern Ireland’s lost a fair bit of its hinterland on that map... but not to worry, at long last something we all*, irrespective of political beliefs, can support:
The "Axe The Beer Tax" campaign brings together all those with an interest in saving the British pub. We have launched this campaign because a great British tradition is under threat. We want to work with as many organisations and individuals as possible. If you back our aims, please pledge your support here.

* SNPers should probably check up with HQ on this one; hasn't beer joined The Buckfast on their Naughty List? Whisky is still OK apparently because...just because, pour yourself a Bushmills and stop asking stupid questions.

Bucky was Labour's naughty list as well. Remember Cathy Jamieson being serenaded by a ned giving the V-sign shouting "Don't ban Buckie".

Indeed one the earliest critics of the Bucky phenomenon was Helen Liddell, former Scotland Secretary and now HM High Commissioner to Oz. It was she who first opened the war with the monks back in the mid-90's!

Aberdonian,

No specific mention of it in the Chancellor's speech, funnily enough!

Chekov,

Scandalous, I know:)
