Ach sure, we're all McBamas now...

The President of Scotland welcoming a fellow Scot in the White House:
"So it seems there's another Scot in the White House and that must be a good thing."

Mr Obama's maternal ancestor, Edward FitzRandolph, is said to have emigrated to America in the 17th Century.

According to genealogists, his ancestry can also be traced to William the Lion, who ruled Scotland from 1165 to 1214.

If we're going to go that far back down the line, then I’d say probably the vast majority of folk presently living in both Ulster and Scotland are also related to Mr McBama.

But this from Mr Pres..First Minister needs clarifying:
The first minister said 12 US presidents had been of Scottish descent.

Yessss, regarding that Scottish descent, and call me pedantic but...

You did not mention that Jim Murphy also invited Obama to Scotland. Or is he in the Nationalist conspiracy?

YES!!!!!!!!

I was poking gentle fun more at Mr Salmond's claim of both Obama and 12 other presidents as Scotland's own. He'll be pleased to find out that, as far as I'm concerned, he's free to invite whomever he wants.

You'll be delighted to know that Anglesey in Wales claimed Obama as a direct decendants of a Welsh couple months ago!

He'd be the 9th "Welsh" Presient apparently (ha ha!)

At least we have one that has a slightly stronger link than Obama though, good old Thomas Jefferson!

Wales' newspaper, the Western Mail, loves nothing more than claiming far flung celebrities are "Welsh" - it's a common source of comedy over here!
