Of course the real shame is that whereas the Scottish athletes got an Olympic celebration in their capital, the Welsh athletes got an Olympic celebration in their capital - it appears that the English don't get an equivalent English Olympic celebration in our capital.
No, instead there is a "British" celebration to which the Scots, Irish and Welsh are of course invited, and no specific recognition of the English contribution.
All of which leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Maybe that's why David Cameron refers to us as "sour little Englanders"?

You haven't seen it being called "team uk" here either, nevertheless, as wildgoose points out Team GB contained athletes from all 4 corners of the UK.
