All seems a bit surreal if I am honest. Unless the flag was lead-lined or prone to tying itself around peoples neck then the h & S issue is far fetched.
I could understand if it was some heavy canvass or tarpaulin banner as they could potentially be a bit more dangerous. But a flag!?
Could have knocked someone's pint over I suppose...
Reminds me of an incident when I went to watch England play India at the Oval(Kennington not E.Belfast!). Halfway through the first morning's play, a stewart waded into the middle of the crowd where we were sitting and confiscated a St George's Cross on the basis that someone had complained about it being waved (not in a provocative way mind, just about it being waved). There was a moment of silent disbelief and then all hell broke loose. The guy in question got thrown out for his admitedly OTT reaction, but there was a serious chance of crowd disorder and for the first time at any cricket match I've been at, the police were drafted in.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, news of the incident spread and the next day there was a sea right round the ground of St George's and Union flags and an almost constant refrain of "Stand up if you Love England!!!" and "Rule Britannia". The stewarts kept a low profile that day!!
