Wendy bends back to an early referendum date

Good woman...:
The leader of the Labour Party in Scotland has again called on the SNP to hold a referendum on Scottish independence.

Similar comments by Wendy Alexander in May led to suggestions of a rift between her and Prime Minister Gordon Brown over the matter.
At the time he failed to back her stance on the matter.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Any Questions, Ms Alexander urged the SNP to "get on with it".

She said it was time for the people to decide now rather than wait for 2010, which is the preferred date of the Scottish Government.

...although I suppose it’s too much to hope for her yellow-belly of a leader to back her up this time.

How dare you call Billy Britain Brown a yellow belly. Shame on you sir, and here was me thinking that your intention was to have this as a gentlemanly blog.

I make an exception for that man. He's as much a genuine Unionist as you are- this is the man who signed the Scottish Claim of Right in 1987 and who was istrumental, for purely selfish party-political reasons, in the introduction of the devolution experiment.

Now that self-same experiment has come bacj and bit him and Labour on the bum, he's amazingly rediscovered his British identity and heritage. And in order to save his own worthless skin, he's now decided to impose his version of Britishness which has simulataneously done much damage to the Union.

The man is a fraud and worst than that, a complete coward.

Bottler Brown is not a Unionist, he's a Colonialist.

He genuinely believes that Scotland is best served by remaining part of a Union with England despite his oft-reported private loathing for the English.

And it is Scotland's interests that concern him, not "British" interests which are just a figleaf to cover his real aim which is a Scotland that has all the advantages of independence but none of the disadvantages - and the fact that it is all at England's expense no doubt gives him a great deal of satisfaction.
