It looks like they're going to end that agreement, which is fair enough as far as I'm concerned - the Gurkhas deserve better. As long as it's done without riling the other parties too much.
They should have a similar system as they have in France with the foreign legion. All those honourably discharged from the legion automatically qualify for French citizenship.

On a sentimental level I completely agree, but the UK has responsibilities to India and Nepal.
