You might have missed it on the Beeb...but Queen Elizabeth II (or Queen Elizabeth I for all you pedantic Jacobites out there) is now officially the oldest monarch in British history.
Am I the only one that finds the counting of days in such a way about life and death is a bit morbid. Especially when at five o'clock they made sure to mention that Queen Victoria died and so Elizabeth II was officially the longest living.
I think it's more a sympton of the fact that we're in the quietish news period before Xmas, not that much more for journalists (or bloggers!) to write about. Even the Queen didn't seem that particularly bothered about it.
