And as for the Welsh Tories, completely lost the plot.
"To all those people who feel let down by Plaid Cymru's failure to act as the party of Wales, I say come and join us."
Nick Bourne, Tory assembly group leader
He told delegates that the Conservatives made policies in Wales and backed new legislation on issues such as the Welsh language.
Great stuff....that should really turn around your fortunes, nothing like addressing the electorate’s core concerns, making sure your policies on bin-collection can now be read in Welsh.
Alternatively, now about you stop paffing about and start fighting for that very substantial part of the Welsh population, who want nothing to do with the separatist agenda?

And so you expose your so called "Britishness" as just a peculiar form of Englishness that most English reject.
I take it you have no time for any other languages in the "British" isles?
So much for your "British" credentials.

My Britishness is not parochial, limited to the events in one region of the UK. I believe that the UK works better as a single unit rather than as three (or four) possible separate parts...I'm not sure, is that a "peculiar form of Englishness"?
My point about the Conservative Party is that it is (or at least was the party if the Union), a part of the Welsh (and Scottish and N.Irish) population do not agree with the concept of devolution...why is it not trying to out-Welsh Plaid? Apart from anything else, it's not a very good political tactic.

Not at all. They are an important part of our heritage, our nation would be so much the weaker if they disappeared. Where I disagree with the various minority language activists is that their survival is dependent on throwing money or legislation at them. A more positive approach is required, eg forcing shopkeepers to spend money on changing their signage will not make said shop-owner or his customers love the Welsh language than at present.
BTW, is it true that Welsh language activists prevented a hospital from opening because it didn't have bi-lingual signage?

So what are "British" credentials?
There is not one definition of "Britishness", you can have your one opinion on the matter, I can have another....benefits of living in a democracy
