Another N.Ireland judicial screamer of an own-goal....
A Ballymena man accused of explosives offences has had his bail conditions altered so he can attend Celtic's Champions League football match.
Liam Lyness, 23, of Fisherwick Crescent, denies possessing three incendiary devices with intent to endanger life or damage property.
If he'd been charged with a bit of shop-lifting or petty vandalism, yep, ok, let him pop over to watch Glasgow Irish FC getting a hiding from AC Milan.
But it's an explosives charge!!
The guy's been charged with being a member of the *Real* IRA!!!

This is scarcely believable.
It is also rather instructive regarding the increasing number of dissident republican scum living in and around the environs of Ballymena South.
It's not been widely publicised how many of these types of criminal families have been involved in some of the less savoury incidents around the town.
Criminal or just the normal run-of-the mill paramilitary or sectarian stuff?
It depends I suppose whether you count drug dealing, vandalism etc as run-of-the-mill paramilitary stuff. The members of these dissident groups are practically indistinguishable from the common or garden thug as far as I can see.
