We Need Referendums Now!

Apparently a good performance by Salmond at Westminster yesterday....but he needs pulling up on this statement:

"Pursuing Britishness at the very time that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are exploring new avenues of national expression and government is out of touch and out of date.

"The Prime Minister should be changing the structures to match the people's attitudes not attempting to change the people's attitudes to match the structures."
These institutions had to reflect the "new political realities in these isles
".

In the recent elections in all three countries, unionist parties received a large majority of votes- so what exactly is this "new political reality"?

If it does in fact exist, then why aren’t the SNP, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Fein pressing harder for independence/border referendums? Exactly.

Unionist parties should be seizing the initiative on this question and calling for these referendums as soon as possible; I'm convinced that in all three cases a big percentage will vote for the continuation of the United Kingdom and such a result can only deal a devastating blow to all of Salmond's and the other nationalists' fanciful claims.
