Stephen Menary, who was a fourteen year old army cadet at the time, was maimed by a booby-trapped bomb placed by Irish republicans in Shepherds Bush in 2001. Despite his injuries, he has not only very courageously lived as full a life as possible, but also helped to raise thousands of pounds for other disabled servicemen charities.
The Government's Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority has now, in its wisdom, decided to cut the amount he will receive because he has learned how to cook for himself and do his own washing...a truly despicable decision.
Stephen’s fellow Chelsea supporters have now decided to publicise his plight and also set up an online petition appealing to the government to reverse the decision; you help out a very brave lad and sign it here.
